I seems there is always another nail or massage place opening up in West Hollywood. After finding out I will be looking for my 4th place to live during my first year in Los Angeles, I decided to treat myself to a massage.
The Thai massage place I walked into was extremely dark with a warn paper list of services offered taped next to the reception desk. I told the guy at the front desk that I would like the 60 minute massage. He then asked me, "would you like lady or man?". After thinking about if for about a half a second, I said, "man". He then opened the front door to the outside, yelled a few things and then a young man came in. He showed me to the "room" for me to go into. These "rooms" were basically just room dividers put up. You could hear everything going on.
I got undressed and laid down on the mat. This place reminded me of a one of those nail salons where employees do more than one thing. They might start your manicure, but then go back to the desk after another nail technician completed a previous customer to finish up yours. Here, they were talking to one another during the massage and even greeting customers who came in. For all I knew, I could have had 3 different people working on me.
After my back, he then started on my legs.... getting very close to my frank and beans. Oh well, no big deal I thought, he's just trying to do a good job. He then exited to do answer the phone, then came back and told me to flip over onto my back. Whoever was doing my massage now went in for the kill.
All I could think was, what is the proper tip for this? I guess this is what the "Combo 60 minutes" gets you.
Happy Friday!
Good experienced!
